WE KEEP YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT SMALL.
For every new piece of IT equipment manufactured, the environment is exposed to toxic wastes and pollution ranging from heavy metals, lead and quicksilver to packaging and long-distance transport. Most of the metals used in IT equipment are also a finite resource – making their extraction all the more environmentally destructive. This process has a much higher carbon footprint than the use of the equipment itself. A lot of today’s IT equipment is thrown away or recycled too early. Much of this equipment could have had a second and perhaps a third life in other settings. With our refurbishing process we keep your carbon footprint as small as possible.
Refurbishing and subsequent remarketing of IT devices are among our core competencies. CHG-MERIDIAN has regular customers in all attractive markets, thanks to decades of experience in IT brokerage. Added, we are able to sell used and tested hardware at good prices. This proposal not only applies to our customers as part of our business concepts, but to anyone who wishes to sell used hardware, – whether software firms or enterprises.
In the refurbishing process used devices are optically and technically conditioned, analyzed and tested. Secure data erasure is of highest priority here. We offer complete, TÜV-certified data erasure. This process completely and irretrievably erases sensitive data in accordance with present-day standards and – without damaging hardware.
All devices are logged within visual audits and by automatic readouts of existing components. Successful data erasure is also documented. Decals, dust, internal serial numbers and references to prior owners are professionally removed. Missing components such as power supply and mouse are added. Products are then newly packaged and placed on the market.
Professionally and environmentally friendly.
Compared with recycling, refurbishing is better for the environment, because not only are individual components of your legacy devices used, but the original product is preserved. The devices resale for lucrative additional returns. Non-reusable IT equipment is professionally and ecologically disposed of by our associated company and in accordance with the WEEE Directive.
