The principles of the circular economy are part of our DNA. CHG-MERIDIAN offers IT equipment leasing with subsequent refurbishment and remarketing in line with the principles of the resource-efficient circular economy.
On an annual basis CHG-MERIDIAN refurbishes around 924,000 IT assets (worldwide) after a first life lease term (96% of all IT lease returns). Reusing devices instead of procuring and then disposing of them every time conserves resources and improves our environmental footprint.
IT usage models such as leasing and device-as-a-service, models offered by CHG-MERIDIAN, deliver clear benefits regarding an organization’s carbon footprint compared with the traditional approach of purchasing equipment (Green IT Study, VITO, 2022).

At our Technology Centers, used equipment undergoes sustainable visual and technical refurbishment in line with the principles of green IT.
You are welcome to see for yourself how we live and breathe transparency at our Technology Centers in Gross-Gerau and Skien. You can observe our processes in detail during a guided tour and see how we thoroughly clean and refurbish your used IT equipment.
ECOVADIS
At CHG-MERIDIAN, we believe it is important to conduct our business in a responsible way, also in our dealings with business partners and suppliers. In order to achieve a transparent assessment, we are using EcoVadis to build a network of suppliers. This platform enables us to evaluate and compare the sustainability performance of our suppliers. In 2022, CHG-MERIDIAN GROUP was once again awarded SILVER Scorecard by EcoVadis, putting the Group in the top 25 percent of all companies assessed.
CHG-MERIDIAN Belux memberships for sustainable IT
CHG-MERIDIAN Belux is member of the Belgian Insititute for Sustainable IT and signed its SuRe Charter
Sustainability is an ongoing process for us and we are continually expanding our commitment in this area. That is why CHG-MERIDIAN Belux has signed ISIT-BE's SuRe Charter, the European Charter for Sustainable Refurbishment of Digital Devices.
CHG-MERIDIAN Belux is member of Febelfin and signed the Circular Economy Charter (2021).
To move from a linear throwaway society to a circular economy, it is important to use as few (new) resources as possible in production, to extend the lifespan of goods as much as possible and to reuse or recycle resources or components after use.
Thanks to years of experience, leasing companies today have many suitable and proven financial solutions to enable the switch from ownership to use.That is why the Belgian Leasing Association examined how leasing can play a role in the development of the circular economy. The result is the Circular Economy Charter in which the leasing sector commits to help accelerate the the development of the circular economy.
